Established in 1986, Family Academy is a non-profit educational organization offering an effective home education program to families. True education empowers parents to raise their children to their full potential—academically, emotionally, socially, and spiritually—to be the leaders of tomorrow. Family Academy has been a foundational organization in the development of home education. Founding members have developed a unique concept model in Family Academy, and have been instrumental in working through legislative avenues to gain academic freedom for families to educate their children at home. This model provides professional, experienced, certified teachers dedicated to supporting the family's learning program.

Students are able to earn a high school diploma by working with a teacher affiliated with Family Academy's private school extension program. Students enrolled in a private school extension program affiliated with Family Academy have an academic transcript compiled by the registrar that is easily understood and accepted by colleges and universities.

Family Academy is fully accredited as an outstanding academic institution via the National Private Schools Accreditation Association Group and is a private school through the Washington State Board of Education offering personalized education for grades K-12.
