Caleb Patterson moved to China when he was two where he spent a year learning Chinese while his parents taught English. He has also enjoyed being a page in the legislature in Olympia two different years, academic competitions and participated in Science Olympiad, Science Bowl, and Skills USA, winning several state medals. He has been involved in AWANA and earned the Meritorious Award. Recently, Caleb received his Eagle Scout with palms and will be traveling to the east coast this summer as an assistant scoutmaster for the Boy Scout National Jamboree. This year he took part in Christian Youth Theater, as an actor and orchestra member. For the past two years, Caleb has attended the Clark County Vocational Skills Center, in the Pre-engineering program. This summer he will be working framing houses. His plans for the future include attending college and majoring in mechanical or civil engineering and construction management.

Kyle Pflug entered Christian education in the fifth grade at Providence Classical Christian School in Bellevue, WA. When the school moved further north, he relocated first to local public schools, and eventually full-time to running Start at Bellevue Community College where he completed his high school education while dual enrolled with Academy Northwest. He received his private pilot's license last year and spends his time flying his grandparents' Cessna 140, writing poetry, and writing in online webzines and forums that he has maintained over the years. He will be attending Whitworth College this fall where he plans to study English or Youth Ministry.

Mellissa Ponderlick attended Northwest Academy during her senior year. She has had a good time working with her teacher and fellow classmates. Mrs. Summerfelt has helped her to grow into a responsible person and a hard worker. She works three jobs, two of them on-call and one part-time; her spare time is spent with her boy friend, friends, and family. Mellissa's goal is to become a registered nurse to help people with their illnesses.

Alex Price thanks his teacher for her guidance in learning to think outside the box. He has followed his bliss using his skills in automobile mechanics. He attended West Sound Vocational Tech's automotive program and participated in the Regional VICA Competition. His passion is auto racing and he takes racing classes at various raceways. He is employed at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard where next year, he plans to enter the apprentice program. Alex thanks his parents for their commitment and support in his schooling.

Noel Purser is a certified teacher of the nearly forgotten Lashootseed language; she spoke before the US House of Representative of behalf of its revival. In addition to her interest and involvement in tribal dance and language, Noel, currently volunteers at both the Elders Luncheons, elementary school, and has taught at the Early Learning Center in Suquamish. She is also captain of an all girls' canoe, and has been on all the canoe journeys since the age of nine. As Miss Chief Seattle Days, Noel, invites you to come and celebrate with her and the people in August.

Krista Renouard transferred from public school to Academy Northwest in her senior year. She enjoyed the one-on-one attention she received from her teacher. While a student at HillCreek, Krista tested into the Running Start program at Skagit Valley College and began working towards a paralegal certificate. While this field is of great interest to Krista, her first love is writing. Her future plans are to complete the Paralegal program at Skagit Valley College while taking various creative writing classes. Krista's ultimate desire is to become a published author.

Carissa Ricci is very excited to be receiving her diploma from her Mom today. She has filled the last four years of her life with swimming varsity for Snohomish, competing in crew, showing dairy cattle, working as a lifeguard, swim instructor, and coffee barista. She has the most fun being goofy with "the Magical Five" (a.k.a. her four closest friends). Her joy and passion is Jesus Christ. She prays that she will have the opportunity to serve in Youth or women's Ministry for many years. She plans to attend Northwest University where she will major in business and marketing.

Scott Roerig has always enjoyed extreme sports. Though snowboarding is his favorite, his bike and long board get plenty of use. Scott also loves the guitar and has played for about three years. He has worked at Peninsula Woodworks for the last two years making fine outdoor furniture. He is currently involved in running start at Olympic College and plans to continue taking some courses there after he graduates. Although he is unsure of what the future holds for him at this point, he wants to thank God, his family, robin, and his friends for helping him get this far.

Laura Scharber enjoys reading, writing songs, poems and short stories. She also studies French language and culture, as well as American and European history. Laura is fond of traveling and has visited New York City for the past seventeen years to visit family. Her greatest passion is for Jesus. During her high school years, she has served at the Care Center of Lewis County, was lead singer in a local Christian band, and worked with King's Kids on evangelistic outreaches. She is very active in her church and mentors young teens. Laura plans to attend Centralia College.

Amanda Seeley enjoys snowboarding, bowling, babysitting, going to movies, hanging out with friends, and listening to music. She also plans to attend college this fall to prepare for a career as a massage therapist.

Amber Shelton has excelled in reading and writing throughout her junior and high school years. Her favorite sport is soccer and she has played on club teams, select teams, and public high school teams. Amber also enjoys singing, playing pool, and having fun with friends. After graduation she is moving to Florida to live closer to her father. Amber is looking forward to preparing for a future in either Architecture or Real Estate at Palm Beach Community College.
